Author and Illustrator:
Lai Ma
Mei Mei Says:
I love Lai Ma's books, and it's probably one of the most gorgeous children's books I've seen. Not only do they have great artworks, they are also beautifully translated. This book has won five different awards in Taiwan. Each page has so many details, my kids really enjoy looking through the books by themselves after they are familiar with the story. Of course, this is when the CD comes in handy too. The story is espeically useful when teaching children to be not afraid of the dark, the monster in the closet, under the bed, etc. Biggest words they learned in this book? Monster in Chinese!
About the Author:
Lai Ma likes to tell stories with pictures, and does so in a vivid, humorous fashion. The all-too-human facial expressions of the animals in LaiOs illustrations are a constant source of delight. Lai has also left many clues in the pictures, so that young readers will experience the joy of discovery. Lai wants his books to be pleasant journeys that readers will take again and again.
